Wreck Mark, Cardingmill Bay Oban

Following the sinking of the vessel ‘HEADCORN’ in Cardingmill Bay, Sound of Kerrera, Northern Lighthouse Board has established an Emergency Wreck Marking Buoy:

Location:  Latitude: 56° 24.609’ North (approx.) Longitude: 005° 29.646' West (approx.)

Character: Occulting Alternating Blue / Yellow every 3 seconds

Description/Colour: Pillar Buoy with Blue / Yellow Vertical Stripes

Topmark: Yellow Vertical / Perpendicular Cross

Additional Info: The word WRECK exhibited Black on Yellow

Mariners are advised to pass to the WEST of this buoy to avoid the wreck. The Emergency Wreck Marking Buoy will remain in place until removal of the HEADCORN is undertaken.
