Socotec Land & Hydrographic Surveys (on behalf of SHEPD) will be undertaking subsea cable inspections at Kisimul Castle Barra, Benbecula/South Uist, North Uist/Benbecula East, North Uist/Benbecula West and North Uist/Berneray from 12 October to 30 November 2026.
The vessel conducting the works will be restricted in its ability to manoeuvre and will display the appropriate lights and shapes.
Other vessels are requested to pass at a safe speed and provide a minimum clearance of 500m (COLREGs Rule 16 & 18) during marine operations. The vessel will monitor VHF Channel 16 throughout survey operations.
