Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks is deploying a metocean seabed frame mooring at three landfall sites for an interconnector cable project between NW Skye and South Uist. The seabed frame sites are located in Holmar Bay (Uist), Ardmore Bay (Skye) and Meanish Pier in Loch Pooltiel (Skye). Frames will be deployed from 10th December 2025 over two days, weather permitting. Each frame will be deployed for 30 days.
During deployment activities, the vessel will be restricted in their ability to manoeuvre and will display the appropriate lights and shapes prescribed by the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. Other vessels are requested to provide a minimum clearance of 50m from the installation vessel during operations, and post-installation, and to pass at a safe speed.
