Update - earlier reopening 12 April 2024. Crinan Canal winter closure from 21 October 2023

Following representations by WHAM and others, Scottish Canals has issued an earlier date to reopen the Crinan Canal in SPring 2024:

"Scottish Canals has reviewed the completion date with its contractors and works are now scheduled for completion on the 12 April, although this date remains challenging with little contingency to take account of events such as extreme weather conditions."

Crinan Canal will be closed for transit from 21 October 2023. There will be extensive work on the canal through the winter.
